The Charity is a grant-making charity. It primarily provides grants to charities concerned with animal welfare (see grant making policy for further details).

The charity was originally established by the Will of Dinah Mary France-Hayhurst and was known as the Mrs D M France-Hayhurst Charitable Trust. In April 2015, the Trust was incorporated and the assets are now held by the Charity.

Mrs D M France-Hayhurst Foundation is registered as a charity with the Charity Commission (Registered Charity Number 1160394).
